Praise Team
Heber Springs FUMC Praise Team leads the congregation into worship for the Glory of God. We strive to create an atmosphere of corporate worship where God’s presence is welcomed and His glory is released. Our purpose and calling is that of leading others into the very presence of the Living God. There is no calling issued for "performances" and "showmanship" - - only true praise and worship. Therefore, members must strive continually through prayer and example to be pure of heart before God and others.
Members of the Praise Team must lead a God driven lifestyle, have a humble attitude, have adequate music skill and consistent personal lives. The Praise Team is Spirit led and music is approved by the entire team on whether it is congregational and worshipful. "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth". (John 4:24)
Members should be committed; this commitment includes prayers, regular attendance, and tithes/offerings. It is asked that the commitment on the music team be considered a major commitment, and that it not be frequently disregarded for other events.
Primary Roles of the Praise Team:
- Lead the congregation into worship.
- Serve together as a Christ-honoring team and encourage one another.
- Recruiting new members when there is a vacancy
- Humbling ourselves in service to others and God so that we are not performing but worshiping with our gifts and talents given by God.
