It is always amazing to see people discover the gifts God has given them. In my opinion, the churches that do the best job of helping lay people discover their gifts, and then empowering them to utilize those gifts to do ministry will experience God’s grace each and every day. Here at Heber Springs FUMC that is exactly what our goal is, to train and equip common ordinary people to use their gifts for the building up of God’s kingdom.
The whole purpose of making disciples for Jesus Christ is to work together to discuss new and innovative ways that God can use us to liberate the laity for real ministry.
At First United Methodist Church we want you to meet lay people who are involved in meaningful ministries and interact with them. We never tell you where you are to serve. The ministry here at First Church allows you to select from over 200 areas of service. There is a place for you. The whole staff and I here at First United Methodist Church are always available for specific questions about God's ministry.
Many people are praying for you, even though we have not met formally. We want you to know that First United Methodist Church is inviting you with open arms to be a part of God's kingdom here on earth.
